I'm a fan of my morning routine. I get a big dose of baby lovin'. These moments really have become a cherished part of my day. I noticed that I have such a fun supply of pictures of my daughter smiling or laying in a cute set up for each monthly photo, but this has made me contemplate.

I have always enjoyed looking at my family's photos growing up, back when people actually printed photos and put them into albums (wanna bring that back! GOALS). I literally would spend hours just looking through each album one by one and multiple times. Some of my favorite pictures are of me with my parents. It's fun to see what they were like when I was little and even back to their wedding. Now, I particularly relate to when they had my older brother, their first.

This last week while looking through all of the adorable pictures I have of my daughter, I realized that there aren't very many of us together. I came up with a goal for myself to work on as Lily grows and eventually more children come. I want to make more of an effort to jump in more photos with my daughter. Ya it's true that being a mom means most days your hair is a little greasy and doesn't get done half the time, but I want Lily to see how much I love her in the photos I take and I want her to know that even though she may not remember these moments, I treasured them and was right there by her side! One day, when she is a mom her self, trying to figure out this new chapter of life called "baby number one", she will maybe take a peak at my photos, understand and feel a connection with me as well.

I know that being camera shy is totally real! (I live behind the camera, not in front of it!) But I hope that we may learn to step in and let raw and joyful images of our lives with our loved ones be captured. That is journalistic photography and the beauty of what I love to do. I love how meaningful and irreplaceable images can be, but so are the everyday moments when we are together. Cherish them! Jump into the photograph with your babies and one day it could mean so much to them to see you at this time in your life.

Make the pathway bright, everyone.
